PRAISES AND PRAYER REQUESTS
Praise for an amazing and wonderful year of serving the least of these through individuals, mission teams, interns and staff of Orphan Outreach. We are so thankful to those of you who are committed to pray faithfully for us and for the children we serve.  The Lord has accomplished so much this year through our ministry and we look forward to seeing what He has in store for next year!

GUATEMALA
Praise God for our time with the First Baptist Andrews team that served at the special needs unit of Hermano Pedro Hospital in Antigua and at My Special Treasure, a girl’s home in Chimaltenango. They had a great time at both places and are praying to keep building a relationship with them. The team brought humanitarian aid to both places and were able to leave an offering at My Special Treasure to renovate a building, which will be a new dorm for the girls.

Please pray for the children and staff at Little House of Refuge since many of them have come down with colds and upper respiratory problems due to the cold weather in the area.

Pray for the children and staff at Mama Carmen's as they prepare to go to their coffee farm to spend Christmas. Pray for protection as they travel and for them to enjoy their time outside the city.

Pray for the WOW Christmas team as they travel from locations all across the United States tomorrow to celebrate Christmas with the children and staff in all of our programs in throughout Guatemala. Pray for safety on the roads, health for the team and many opportunities to share with the children the gift of Christ’s birth. Praise for the many wonderful individuals who have donated Christmas gifts for these children and for the parties to celebrate at each location.

Praise God for a great year full of blessings and wonderful teams which have helped us make a difference in the lives of the many children we serve in Guatemala.
INDIA 
GAN-SABRA (HIV Home for Children),
Aizawl, Mizoram

We are so thankful for the new partnership with this home for HIV children. Praise for a child from the home being adopted by a Christian family. Praise that for the first time the children will have a Christmas celebration provided by Orphan Outreach. Praise that all of the children have remained in good health through this year and that they did not lose a child to HIV this year.

Jeevan Anand Charitable Trust, Anand
Praise for the Lord bringing six new girls to the Home (Diya, Kamini, Jyoti, Mariyam, Rasila and Kinjal) and that they all got admission in the same Christian School. We praise God for providing all the needs of the children and also the staff workers of Jeevan Anand through Orphan Outreach. We praise God for the meaningful frequent visits of Samson, Uma and the U.S. teams to encourage and support the staff and girls. Please pray for our Christmas Celebration program held on December 18th where the girls will perform for 300 children. Pray that the Gospel will be shared with all those attending! Pray for funds needed to buy a home for the girls since the present one is leased.

Praise for another wonderful year that has seen a lot of new 4-year old admissions into the home and at the same time a few that have graduated to college out of town. God continues to be faithful to the program. Praise that a firm platform of partnership with Orphan Outreach has been put in place and they look forward to growing the program and the school in the years to come to serve more children. Praise that the school will receive a much needed new school bus to transport children from the community to the school. Pray for plans to build needed infrastructure for the school in partnership with Orphan Outreach

Santvana Home, Pune
Praise for another wonderful year with a great bunch of happy kids growing in the Lord and constantly improving in their health, education and other life skills at the home. Please pray for four of the children, Eunice, Manisha, Ashvini and Sonaji who are not doing as well healthwise.
Pray for the need for committed new staff for the home and that they will be able to lease their build long-term. Pray that plans for a new community-based program to include more kids will find root and grow, in addition to the home that is presently doing well.

Praise for many enriching visits by teams from Orphan Outreach this past year. Pray for more opportunities to present the Gospel and the love of God to the Red Light Area community as we continue to reach out to them.

Praise God for another very successful year of ministry in India. We have seen God work amazingly in the lives of so many children in our programs and also praise God that He has connected us to another wonderful ministry in Aizawl.

LATVIA
 

Praise for the wonderful donor who provided Christmas for all of the children at the day center in Liepaja. Pray that these children may be reached with the Gospel and that their families would become believers as well.
RUSSIA
Please pray for Alyona, one of our graduates, who was diagnosed with early stage cancer. We still haven't received an update on her. Please pray for healing for her. The doctors found out that she also has a heart problem.

Please pray that our ministry would expand and reach more children and minister to many souls. Please pray that the Lord would send His faithful servants to minister to these wonderful kids in Volkhov. We are praying for volunteers there.

Please pray for those who will be traveling to the orphanages to celebrate Christmas and provide Christmas presents to the children. Please pray for protection on the roads and for health. Pray that the children will be open to the Gospel, especially the true meaning of Christmas. Praise for the wonderful donor who made Christmas possible for all of these children and our graduates.

Pray for all of our graduates as it is final exam time for them. Please pray for our graduates who were not afraid to join the Bible study group at church. We are praying and hoping they will become part of God's family and will find friends at church.

Praise for the wonderful work God has accomplished through our staff and teams this year in Russia!

Throughout the year we have asked you to join us in praying  for individual children in each of our programs around the world. We are so thankful to all of you who faithfully join us in praying for these children who mean so much to us.
 
This December we have a special praise and a prayer request as we ask you to join us in praying for the 9 new graduates of the Amor, Fe y Esperanza (AFE) class of 2011.
 
This is a special group of young people who have overcome so much in their lives to become the very first class to complete high school and graduate from AFE. All nine graduates will be continuing their education at college. Please pray for each of them as they begin this chapter in their lives.

The AFE School began in 2001  in hopes of taking children out of the Tegucigalpa city dump, where they worked each day with their parents to earn money, and provide them with a quality education and hope for a new and brighter future.
 
This is such a time of celebration for these students, their families and the teachers and staff at the AFE school.

In addition to the nine new graduates, AFE also had five Kindergarteners & thirteen 6th graders graduate. It was also AFE’s first year to have three adults complete 6th grade in their afternoon adult education classes. 

Praise God for the victory these students have in Christ and for their accomplishments that are only possible through Christ.
We also give thanks for the Orphan Outreach team from 121 Community Church in Grapevine, Texas and other individuals who returned home from Honduras on Tuesday. In addition to attending AFE's first high school graduation, this team had an amazing time of ministry building bunk beds, a crib, tables and benches for two AFE families. Now these children have beds to sleep on and don't have to sleep on the floor.

The team also distributed Christmas gifts to children in the surrounding communities (see photo below).

Cell vs Bible


Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing.

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being
disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you!

My three legged Blessing.....



A story about a special dog, Kiya.  She is a Black Labrador.

Her story began when she was a little puppy. Her owner just moved into an apartment and couldn’t have a black lab puppy, so my brother took the puppy and brought it home “promising that is was temporary stay”. You heard that before, right? Just as soon as Kiya arrived she got Parvo, this is a very horrible desies for dogs. My dad was faithful to dip her in medication, but she was in terrible condition and my parents thought for sure she wasn’t going to make it. She survived and recovered fully. It was amazing! She is the sweetest dog in our family.

When I was adopted I adopted a golden retriever, her name was Kelly. One day I came home from a camp finding my Kelly passed away. I was completely in tears, she slept with me beside my bed, and now she’s gone. As I cried over Kelly, Kiya jumped on my bed and became my new friend. She became my dog, that slept beside my bed, and that I grew to love her very much. In 2010 Kiya started to limp, lifting her right leg and hardly stepping on it. That of course didn’t stop her from running at 40 miles per hour at the tennis ball that was thrown to her. She was still happy but we worried. We took her to the vet; they took X-ray’s but nothing showed up; her leg seemed normal. Her limp didn’t go away so we made an appointment with a specialist. The doctor examined her leg and took blood samples. A week later we came back for the results. He told us that she had cancer. To save her from that cancer spreading we had to amputate her leg. The doctor also said that this kind of cancer is very aggressive and she had 10% survival. I couldn’t believe it! She started to get in pain before the doctor appointment and whining. We couldn’t let her suffer. She went in to get her leg amputated. It was hard, she wouldn’t be the same. After a day of surgery she came home the next day. A three legged dog. She was confused and had some trouble Laing down without the support of her missing leg. The doctor didn’t give us much hope that she was going to live longer. He said 2-3 months. My whole family cried for they all loved Kiya very much. We decided the best thing for her if she started to get in pain again we had to put her down. We all sat down and prayed for Kiya, that she would live longer. She started to adapt to her three legs and ran like lightning and hopped around the house. We continued to pray for her.  Last month, it was her 1-year anniversary or survival! I’m thankful for Kiya and is my furry friend God has gave me. She is healthy and continues to run for that tennis balls. I wanted to share this story with you because it’s a miracle, God saved her. Nothing is impossible with God.  She is my three legged blessing.

Faith Journey New Lessons.....

Dear Readers, 


Whew! What a couple of months! Thanksgiving, and here comes Christmas faster then you expect it. As it likes to sneak up on you. One day it's  in the 80's and *POOF* it's in the 40's low 30's! Can you believe it? I am so excited! This is one of my favorite seasons, as Thanksgiving comes I always look on how much I have and how much God has showered me with His grace! He is so amazing, no words can describe it. Then it's Christmas, looking at what God did for me. Once again my heart is full of thanksgiving and joy. With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and trips across the states to visit relatives, I have to stop and be still and thank God for sending dear Jesus to save me. I pray your Christmas celebration would be a blessing to you this year!


So in these few months I have learned so many lessons and would like to share them. :) He has thought stubborn me that I become thirsty for Him and if I keep going day to day without a drink of His word, I become weak and require strength. After a while of doing so, I have a collapse. I have been drifting farther away from Him and He send me a trial to bring me back to Him. I absolutely need Him all the time! All the time! Not just once a week. Everyday! And I will fail again but God is so merciful to me. 


That brings me to my next biggest lesson I've learned. I need to focus on things that are godly. There are so many things today that our enemy uses to draw us far from God. The biggest of which is media and music. It has an impact on you if you know it or not. What you watch or listen to,  will define your view on how life should be. People today watch movies and want to be like those people, want to look like them, and view the actions of the actors as the "norm". Or when you see young boys with their pants half down and listening to rap. Where did that come from? From the people and the things that influences them the most, they acted what they saw in others to be the "norm".  It's called Influence.What I'm saying is, what you choose to put in your life will either draw you close to God or farther..Though it is hard at times. I have to focus on things that are going to encourage me in my faith in Christ and not the things of the world. For me personally I try to stay away from TV shows, and popular movies that have things that are going to make my mind wonder in the wrong direction. It's difficult because our cultures views are immersed everywhere, but with God's strength it's always possible. :)


 I hope you don't see this post and feel like I'm telling you to do those things, I am writing from my heart to share things God has thought me. I felt passionate and writing about things that I'm passionate about, make me excited. But I do encourage those who read this, to draw near to God and to serve Him in everything that you do.

Stellas's Voice

I am an orphan. No one cares about me. I am hungry. I am cold. I am despised. I am abandoned. I am abused. I am Stella’s Voice. A voice is all that is left of Stella, a handicapped orphan. Homeless, powerless, silenced. Used by evil men. Dead at nineteen. I am Stella’s Voice. I am the voice of orphans. I am their prayer for food, for warmth, for love. I am their cry for protection from sex traffickers. Will you be Stella’s Voice too? Together, we can make her voice louder. Together, our prayers are more powerful. Together, we can make a difference. Will you be Stella’s Voice?

So this is how it Ended....

Dear Readers,

I apologize for not posting this sooner. Our last, last day was filled with going to the mountains Medeu. It was freezing cold! My good friend went with us, Dasha. There at Medeu is the biggest ice skating rink. It's huge! The mountains were beautiful with smokey feel to it. Sadly, that summer they had a huge snow storm, which is very uncommon for Almaty to have. It destroyed many trees and left them piles all along the mountains. Workers there were camping out clearing thousands of trees by hand. They didn't have any big equipment like us. They roll the logs. Hard work!
We had shushlick which is a delicacy, don't worry it's comes in chicken too. It's comes  on a stick, very well seasoned. I tried something new, duck. To my surprise it taste good. I don't know if I like it if it was prepared another way though. It was a good last day. We had a wonderful time in Almaty. I was reminded of several things. You represent Christ wherever you go and are.  Where God has you, that's where you are to serve. You don't have to go to the other side of the world to minister to people in need. There are people all around you, everyday who need encouragement and Christ in their lives. Sometimes I forget, because we have so much here, and are so blessed. Also, I felt thankful, so so thankful for everything God has given me, for every little thing.

Since It's Tomorrow.....

Since Halloween in just a day away I would like to share a great article with you. 



The Five Scariest Things You Can Do This Halloween

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. (Proverbs 8:13)
Our country is in the grip of a fear crisis. The tension because of this fear is almost palpable. There is fear over elections, fear over the economy, and fear over hundreds of other issues ranging from the environment to terrorism.
The one fear that America is missing is a fear of the Lord. As a people, we no longer fear God. Because we do not fear God, we no longer hate evil (Proverbs 8:13).
Instead of hating evil, Americans toy with it. We toy with holidays like Halloween that were conceived in evil and that promote the “cute-ification” of evil, whether that evil takes the form of witchcraft, sorcery, ghoulishness, or some other form of malevolent imagery paraded before our children. We laugh at the very things that the Lord describes as “abominations,” and we find ourselves obsessively fascinated by, and attracted to, all things dark.
Yet we do not fear the Lord.
Those who “hate evil” are very scary to a secular society that fears man more than God. They are scary because they dare to declare that there are absolute standards by which society must be governed. They are scary because, if they are successful, industries like Hollywood that make billions of dollars by promoting ungodly fear will lose their influence. They are scary because such people will not be swayed by political candidates who use fear as a tool for manipulation.
With this in mind, I offer you the five “scariest” things you can do this Halloween:
  1. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to not make light of evil. Halloween was conceived in evil and has remained a celebration that uses children to promote a fascination with darkness and superstitious fear. Simultaneously, it makes light of things that the Bible describes as evil. Stand against such things, and the world will find you very scary indeed. The fear of the Lord makes men turn from evil (Proverbs 16:6).
  2. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to not be fearful. The media wants you to be afraid of everything from overpopulation to global warming. The politicians want you to be afraid of the economy and political instability. God wants you to do what is morally right, trust Him completely, and never be gripped by an ungodly spirit of fear. You can place your trust and hope for this nation in the King of Kings. Jesus said: “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him” (Luke 12:4-5). Believe this, and you will be light to the world.
  3. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to completely skip Halloween and remember Reformation Day. It was 494 years ago that Martin Luther nailed his world-changing 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church. These theses included rebukes to ungodly fear and superstition. 502 years ago, sometime near October 31, a baby named John Calvin was conceived who would dedicate his life to eradicating an ungodly fear of superstitious beliefs and proclaiming the gospel of grace. His emphasis on reformation, revival, and the sufficiency of Scripture had such far-reaching implications for nations like the United States that he has been described by Christian and secular scholars alike as the true founding father of America. The Reformers did something that was very scary to the world of their day. They stood against all forms of dark superstitions which grip the minds and souls of men. It was their emphasis on the fear of the Lord and the wisdom of Holy Scripture that was used by God to liberate untold numbers of men and women. But to remember the Reformers instead of Halloween is very scary to the world. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10).
  4. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to refuse to watch or allow your children to watch any of the toxic Halloween and horror films emerging from Hollywood. America’s fascination with ungodly fear has made horror the most popular and fastest-growing film genre among youth. When parents allow their children to toy with this genre, they promote ungodly fear, and they contribute to the fear-factories in Hollywood that prey upon the youth of our culture. Say “no” to Hollywood horror and you will be dangerously scary to the media elite. “Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence....?” (Jeremiah 5:22).
  5. The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is to get on your knees as a mother and father and pray that the Lord will send you many children who will fear God, not man — children who will especially shun the glorification of witchcraft, the bondage of ungodly fear, and the “cute-ification” of evil that is promoted through holidays like Halloween. Cultures that toy with evil end up being cultures of death. The Christian response is to be a people of life. That means babies. It means fearing God by honoring His command to “be fruitful and multiply.” It means remembering that the Scripture describes children as a “blessing” and a “reward.” Raise children that fear God more than man, and that will be answer enough to our Halloween-and darkness-obsessed culture; for if you trust God over your womb and commit your children to a holy education, you will be very scary to the modern world. “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord” (Psalm 34:11).

Last Couple Days.....

Dear Readers,


  Today we got to go to the orphanage I was at and visit. Vova came with us and it was exciting to see him after 7 years. My director was so nice. She showed us around the orphanage and the group I was from. A lot changed there, it looks so much nicer now. They fixed up the orphanage really pretty. After looking around we went to a small group of 8 kids ages 7-10, and gave them some treats. Most kids were at school and the orphanage was quiet. The little girls really enjoyed the bouncy balls that were in the baggies. One of the little girls showed me the room where she stays in with her friends. Adorable! A lot of kids I grew up with were already in colleges and working. I had a really good friend growing up her name was Dasha, she became more of a sister to me. I was hoping to find her while I was in Almaty. I asked the director and she tried to find what college she was going to. We  found the college were the Director of the college helped us to locate her. She wasn't at the college. After many phone calls and the kind help of others, we found her mobile number. I was so excited! I never forgotten Dasha. We were both so excited to see each other! In KZ, we grow up walking in parks, and doing things outside. We didn't have all the technology, phones, computers, we didn't even watch TV that often. We had time to spend together! I love that about Almaty, though it is catching up to the technology, people are still doing things in the real world instead of cyber space. Anyways, we walked in park and had a wonderful time catching up. She is doing ok, she lives with her mother now, but her mom drinks, she has been an alcoholic all Dasha's life. Dasha was in the orphanage 18 years. When she wanted to be adopted, her mother wouldn't let her. So she lives with her, and it's hard. I know it's difficult to live with an alcoholic, my dad was one. My heart truly ached for her. She didn't have much to eat, she's going to school on the orphanage funding. I wanted to take her home with me. Honestly, I wanted to take every child that was in the orphanage home with me. It was hard for her to go home. When I asked her if she needed to go home after we were done visiting, she  was quiet, I knew I would keep her with me as long as I could. She spent 2 days with us, I'm so thankful to God for letting me find her, and spend time with her. I got to give her  a Bible, I pray God could use it to open her heart to Him and to take comfort. 


Vova and I also had a small chance to visit. He looked good. Still looking for a good job. He graduated from college studying computer programming. Keep praying that he would find a good job. We gave him a Texas Longhorn backpack, hoodie, sticker, Father's Love Letter, and candy. He likes the Texas Longhorn. Also thankful for your encouraging words.

Oh Sunny Day......

Dear Readers,

Our 3/4 day was filled with food, lots and lots of food! My grandma insisted to cook for us, so did my aunt. We ate from 1pm- 5pm. I'm pretty sure we never stopped :), my aunt kept cooking. :) That was our day! We spent it with my grandma. She still insist on talking to my dad in Russian. I think they have a conversation going now in two languages. I love watching them attempt to understand each other. My grandma said all I know how to say in English is "no". So she said no in agreement with my dad. :) Today, we are going to visit the orphanages and Vova! I am very excited and can't wait to give them soccer balls, and the baggies of goodies for them. I will take pictures and post them for you later today. Back home it's 9:25pm, here in Almaty it's 8:25am. :) Sorry that this post it's too exciting but I thought I would write a little bit. :) Thank you for all of your prayers!

Day 2

Dear Readers,

The second day was half filled with business and Almaty sight seeing with my grandma and aunt. I have my own apartment here in Almaty, and when I turned 18 I had a choice to stay in America or to go back and I would have my apartment. But I decided to stay in America. Oh, boy!  I know that wasn't grammatically correct, you see for the past two day's I've been confused majorly between two languages. I'm still in the Eussian (half russian half english). So if I misspell or say something funny, that's because I'm completely blanking on how to say it. :D So anyways, I had to sign papers to give the apartment ownership to my grandmother. After we were done with that we drove around, since it was slightly raining here we couldn't do anything outside. My aunt took us to a Mini-Bazzar. I absolutely love those. Here we don't have packaged food in boxes that are frozen and processed,  you don't even know if the blueberries are real or just sugar colored corn syrup, which is a fact I found out today, in all those muffins and cereals.  So the Bazzar is like a Farmer's Market, fresh fruit and meat and all kinds of goodies are there to buy. Then we visited another church near by,  Orthadox. There where my day was made even happier. My grandma whispered in my ear "God loves me." & "He loves everyone." I don't know what that means but I was too happy to hear her speak of God so openly without me asking. Praise be to God! Thank you Dear Jesus!

Later in the afternoon we went to a huge park called "The Presidential Park" it was founded by the president Nasarbaev. It was very beautiful especially all the fall trees; I've been feeling as though I'm in a book. Where all the pages are filled with those yellow and orange colors of fall. Where the leaves fall on the ground as the wind blows. Where your cheeks turn pink and the sound in the distance of a Mag-Pi (big black and grey bird) singing is heard. There was a wedding there and the couple were dancing in the soft rain. There was a the biggest fountain I've ever seen!  In KZ after it rains mushrooms pop up everywhere from the ground so you can see people walking around in the grass collecting mushrooms. So neat! You can smell the mushrooms. Don't worry they are the safe kind, as my dad gave me a concerned look. :) Oh! The funniest thing about my grandma. She love walking with my dad. My dad doesn't speak Russian, but my grandma insists on speaking to him in Russian. She would be walking and chatting away about the weather and asking him questions. I think it's hilarious, so funny. My dad just nods and smiles. I think she likes him. Well here are some pictures:

First Day In Almaty....

Dear Readers,

My first day in Almaty; full of memories and leaves, beautiful fall leaves. From our outside window I could see a line of trees that are showing their fall colors. Most of the leaves here are yellow, bright yellow! They fall from the  branches and dance their way down to touch the ground. The weather, couldn't be better, in 60's. We walked in Panlov Park. The park I used to walk as a little girl with my dad. At lunch I got to see my grandma and aunt. We haven't seen each other in 7 years. It was filled with many hugs. We ate a big lunch, Borsh which is a beet soup, one of my favorites,  cow's tongue, which sounds absolutely gross but it was good. There were fish eggs, which I just couldn't bring myself  to eat. I never knew they were fish eggs when I was growing up so I ate them just fine, but then I came to America and I found out what it really was. Then we all went walking at park and there were many weddings going on, the Kazak/Russian brides looked really pretty. Today was a good day. This morning I didn't feel jet lagged,  but now at almost seven p.m  I am about to fall asleep. Oh! I'm in love with Russian Squirrels! They are just the best. I saw two today.  Here are pictures from today:

this one is my favorite picture/ The birds were spooked and went flying up  very low..they circled around and round. It was really neat to see so many birds and so close. 

There is my buddy!! He's the best! ...Those ears.. Adorable!

One of many weddings. I thought she looked really pretty. Two words came to my mind. Snow White.
