Vova Getting His Gift!

Dear Readers,

When I was an orphan living in Almaty we were separated into groups by age. The group becomes your family as you grow and learn together. I had a family of my own and part that family was Vova.  Vova is now in another orphanage but Dje  visits him and delivers things we send.

Here is Vova with his Texas hat and the  letters. :)

Wow! It is such a blessing for those gifts to arrive safely in Almaty half way across the globe! Thank you Lord!!

In Christ,
Ashleigh

PS. We will have more updates on Vova!
PSS. We are working on setting up a project for YOU to be involved in, coming soon!

Father to the Fatherless

Dear Readers,

Welcome to a new blog created for thousands of orphans in Almaty Kazakhstan! This blog is created to post news and projects strait from a missionary Dereje who has been serving there for 10+ years. There are around 44 orphanages in Almaty. Dereje is able to visit 7 and more. With numbered supporters he is able to pay for eye corrections, clothe for winter, surgeries and any other needs that these precious children may have. He is there for them,to  love them, play with them and remind them of their heavenly Father. He takes his opportunity to minister and share the gospel, also encouraging and reminding them that God is always with them.

Adoption and the Children-

These children wait for someone to come and love them to take them into their families and to tell them about Jesus Christ. Tell them that they are not alone! That they have family that they have a Father in heaven waiting for them.

Some get adopted but many or most can not because they might have a family member still alive.
However she/he can if the family member gives his/her consent for the child to be adopted. You can't be adopted after the age of 16. Some orphans been there since there were little. They live at the orphanage until 18 or 19, the orphanage collects money for each child for future support. Some orphans are required to leave the orphanage at the age of 16. The now adult  goes and finds a job or goes to college.  Some orphanages support the child until they have a stable job and a home but many don't.

Blog is all About-

This is the beginning of something that we hope will grow! We will post updates, news, needs, projects and plain "Hi's" from the children with pictures and videos. We are here  for them. You have a brother or a sister right now in Christ waiting to hear from you. We are giving the children a voice of their own as they learn to love Jesus and walk in His ways.
