I'm Back...

Dear Readers,

Whew! Can you believe June is almost over! I completely.....can't. It's been so busy I've had almost no time to write, but I'm back I assure you. :) I have some fantastic news to offer, but before I do I shall tell you where I am have been all this time. Just last week I was gone a while on a mission trip to New Orleans, LA. There was still much work to be done from the mess Katrina 2005 brought. We mostly worked in a public school. The first day was super labor day, we moved boxes from one room down stairs, then to a uhall which was outside. The boxes were filled mostly with school supplies such as: books, science instruments, instrument cases, etc... Going down stairs wasn't easy but with the amazing guys we had with us, and awesome team work we got things in the uhall and transferred to another school, where we unloaded the uhall again and mached upstairs to arrange the boxes in the new class room! It was crazy, hard, awesome day! The rest of the week we painted halls at the school. Before they were a gray/bluish color that was worn out, dirty and drawn upon. Painting was fun! The paint wasn't too "fumey" ...yes..I know that's not a word. :) Though I do have to say my painting jeans were nicely decorated with white and green paint! Who can resist putting smiley faces and hand prints on their painting jeans. I couldn't! Our team was all together 15 people.  It was a blessing to be able to attend this trip and to serve the school. We got to minister and tell a 11 yr old girl about Christ, she left with much curiosity and thirst for more. :) I am really thankful! At the end of the week our team leader Josh took us on a airboat ride to see some alligators. It was amazing to see those creatures in the wild. I also got to eat alligator the night. It was yummy!

the walls we painted. blueish/gray colored before :)

Painting ^^

Floyid was so incredibly strong guy! He works at the school helping us paint!

Still some devastation from Katrina 2005 still visible.

Downtown LA

Alligator chilling :) Didn't even see us the entire time- (they are blind, seeing much better at night)

Our awesome team! If you what the the game "signs" is then that's what were doing! :D The signs.

And now for the awesome news!! (drum beat please)..........

*Dere is coming to Texas to visit! TADA! :D It should be sometime in early August. I simply can't wait to see him and thank him for all his hard work in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Also, I am in contact with several orphans now. I have many prayer requests.

Please Pray For:

Dasha- That she'd be comforted as her mother continues to drink. Pray that she would become to know Christ and find a new home.

Sasha- He lives in a airport at the moment because he doesn't have any other place to go. Pray that he would be able to find hope in Christ and a place to live.

In Christ,
Ashleigh
